I am reaching back out to Mike this morning to see what the tests resulted in from last week about the camera and if it is working now. To initially get everyone on the updated firmware, they will have to swap out their zero clients with ones that are imaged at the office. But Tim and I need to put together the proxy first and test it to make sure it is working on zero clients outside the network. I am coordinating with him today to find his availability to get this done. I am not sure how long it will take to complete this part, but will update you once Tim and I iron out a plan. We will be working on the ability to control the external zero clients over the next few days. - A new work order is being submitted to Terradici for assistance in getting the ability for connecting to external devices, once Tim and I get the certificate updated. - Mike was unable to test the zero client that was updated yesterday, due to not having a webcam. I am going to bring the one I have back into the office tomorrow morning. That zero client is currently in Jagvir?s cube at the office. - There are some issues with getting the rest of the zero clients to connect to the new management console, a case is already opened with them, and trying to escalate. - We cannot update external zero clients at this time. Tim and I are working on a way to do that, and I will have more details once we work on that. Need to figure out why the auto discover part is not working on the current zero clients. The only way we got it to connect is manually resetting the zero client itself. Make sure we submit any changes through CAB. Matt- Can you provide us with some information on what you experienced when testing gotomeeting, hangouts and Webex on VDI? If video is working on VDI with Skype, then that indicates the webcam is being detected. So if we need to make it work on Zoom, we will need to test it with Zoom and then also understand what errors are experienced when trying to use video with it. I do not have a webcam to test with, but if we have some in the office, I can come pick one up. To answer your comments: This is for users on personal OR company laptops. This is just for VDI and enabling the camera in its settings. Folks on VPN won?t have to do this. Jagvir is adding a picture of our laptop sliding privacy window. We tested gotomeeting, hangouts and cisco webex on VDI and were not successful at all. At the moment, the only video conferencing we?d recommend on VDI is Skype. No issues at all with Skype. Using another app may be futile. Additionally, webcam testing is not working on the Zero Clients. Scott is looking at a change for 6/22 on the server that would allow this.
